Before reviewing any point data in Leica TruView, you must first download and install it. If you already have it installed, continue now to the next topic in this course.
There are several minimum system requirements for installing Leica TruView, including:
Microsoft Windows XP (SP1 or higher)
Windows 2000 (SP3 or higher with up to date security patches)
Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0 or higher
500 MHz Processor or faster
256 MB RAM or higher
OpenGL accelerated graphics card
Currently you must use the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser 6.0 or later. Other browsers such as FireFox or Netscape might be supported in the future
ActiveX must be activated in the browser
You must first obtain the TruView plugin from the Leica website. Click on the following link, then register and download the plugin.
Once the plugin has downloaded, complete the following steps to install it.
As stated in the system requirements, Internet Explorer 6.0 or later must be used for this plugin.
If asked, restart your computer at the end of the installation to ensure that Leica TruView will work correctly.
Internet Explorer may block access to Leica TruView. If so, you have to click on the message that appears below the tool bars of Internet Explorer to allow ActiveX components to run. Once you do, TruView will run.
